The Belleville valley, a training ground

For Margaux Herpin, the Belleville valley is far more than a training ground. "It's where I first learned to ski, then to ride. It's where I fell in love with snow," she says. She calls it the most beautiful valley, the one that shaped her relationship with the mountains and with snowboarding.

The Club des Sports, a school of life

Margaux Herpin joined the Club des Sports des Menuires at the age of eight. There, she discovered competition through the regional and national circuits for young categories. Beyond the results, it was the memories shared with other young club members, the competition weekends and the team spirit that marked this formative period of her career.

Snowboardcross, an early calling

Margaux Herpin discovered snowboardcross at the Club des Sports des Menuires. The discipline quickly felt like an obvious fit. The racing, the intensity and the adrenaline of the course are, in her words, what makes her come alive. Since that discovery, she has kept pushing her limits on the circuit's most demanding tracks.

David Durand, long-term support

Margaux Herpin highlights the importance of technical support throughout her career. She credits David Durand, her very first coach when she joined the Club des Sports des Menuires, who later became her coach with the Équipe de France too. This support, begun at the very start, has continued to the highest level of the discipline.

Resilience and Olympic ambition

Resilience is the word Margaux Herpin uses to define herself as an athlete. In March 2022, a serious crash during competition upended her career. The following year, she had to undergo hip replacement surgery, a brutal setback followed by a long fight to return to competition. She eventually returned to the pistes, with renewed determination.

Among the standout moments of her career, Margaux Herpin recalls the 2021 junior world championships, held in Russia. She won silver in the individual event, as well as silver in the team event alongside her brother Guillaume. "It was a dream to race together," she says, a memory made all the stronger by the family connection behind that result.

Looking ahead, Margaux Herpin is aiming for the 2030 Winter Olympic Games, set to take place in France.
