ESF Les Menuires is the resort's official ski school, opened in 1964. Located at an altitude of 1,850 metres, it sits at the heart of the 3 Vallées, presented as the largest ski area in the world. The school offers a wide range of lessons, from alpine skiing to snowboarding, as well as off-piste skiing, Nordic skiing and adaptive skiing, taught by an international team of state-qualified ski instructors.

A long-established school in Savoie
The Menuires ski school has held a central position in the 3 Vallées ski area since it opened in 1964, close to neighbouring resorts such as Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. Les Menuires has held the Famille Plus label since 2006, a recognition given to destinations well suited to families. The surrounding ski area has 160 kilometres of pistes and 28 kilometres of waymarked Nordic pistes.
Lessons suited to every skier
The school runs group lessons, which encourage progression and exchange between skiers, and private lessons, tailored to each pupil's individual goals. Ski lessons are open to children from the age of two and a half. The school also covers competition skiing, Nordic skiing (cross-country skiing, biathlon and snowshoeing), adaptive skiing and ski guiding. It also organises corporate seminars.
Off-piste skiing led by high-mountain guides
For experienced skiers, the school runs off-piste and ski touring outings, open from the level known as "class 3". A state-qualified high-mountain guide leads each outing, teaching participants off-piste safety rules, choosing the route according to their level and adjusting it to the day's weather conditions. Participants are equipped with the appropriate safety gear: an avalanche transceiver, a shovel and a probe. Ski touring outings are offered as private lessons, for one or two skiers, at levels ranging from beginner to experienced.
Mountain activities in summer
In summer, the school runs mountain and nature activities under the name Montagne Expériences, open to children from the age of three as well as to adults. These include children's courses and an introduction to biathlon, run in partnership with the resort's guides' office.
